There are three main types of employer sponsored visas in Australia:

Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482): Allows visa holders to stay in Australia for up to four years, with the possibility of applying for permanent residency if eligible.
Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (provisional) visa (subclass 494): Allows visa holders to live and work in regional Australia for up to 5 years, with a pathway to apply for permanent residency.
Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186): A permanent visa that allows visa holders to work and live in Australia indefinitely.

Primary Requirements

The applicant needs sponsorship from an eligible Australian employer.
Generally, the sponsored job must be listed on the Skilled Occupations List, with few exceptions.
The sponsor must demonstrate that they cannot find an Australian citizen or permanent resident who possesses the required skills and experience for the job.
